Event Description:

Irritability, anger, and rage are among the most common—and often most distressing—symptoms experienced in premenstrual disorders. These experiences can significantly affect relationships, parenting, work, and daily functioning, yet they are frequently misunderstood or overlooked in clinical care.

In this webinar rewatch, clinical psychologist Dr. Jessica Peters explores how cyclical irritability and anger present in hormone-sensitive individuals and how clinicians can better support patients navigating these experiences. The session examines different types of anger, including biologically driven irritability associated with hormonal changes and secondary anger that can arise from emotions such as shame, rejection sensitivity, anxiety, or interpersonal invalidation. The webinar rewatch will be followed by a Live Q&A with Dr. Peters.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe how irritability, anger, and rage can present in individuals with premenstrual disorders and their impact on functioning and relationships.

  2. Differentiate between biologically driven irritability and secondary anger related to emotions such as rejection sensitivity, shame, or anxiety.

  3. Identify clinical strategies to support patients in managing cyclical anger and irritability, including symptom tracking, stimulus management, and emotion regulation techniques.

  4. Apply cycle-informed approaches to reduce interpersonal conflict and support patients in navigating challenging social or healthcare interactions.

Intended Audience: This webinar is designed for mental health clinicians, medical providers, and allied health professionals seeking a deeper understanding of PMDD. People with lived experience are welcome to attend.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Attending this webinar counts as 1 CPD credit. For official documentation, you’ll receive a certificate for your records or licensing body for a $10 fee.
