PROGRESS,
NOT PERFECTION.
PMD Awareness Month
April 2026
The lines in this design reflect more than structure; they mirror the menstrual cycle itself: the rise and fall of hormones across the follicular and luteal phases, the shifts that shape how we feel, think, and function each day.
Hormones like estrogen and progesterone work together to prepare the body for a potential pregnancy, while FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) signal ovulation. Across four phases, these patterns repeat, but they are never exactly the same.
And neither are we.
Living with PMDD and PME means navigating cycles that are not linear, predictable, or easy. Some days bring clarity and energy; others require rest, patience, and self-compassion.
That’s why this month, we center progress, not perfection.
Like the lines we draw, progress may rise, fall, pause, or shift direction, but it is still progress. As we raise awareness and amplify real voices, we also remind ourselves to be kind, to honor what our bodies are doing, and to recognize that showing up, however we can, is enough.
“Living with PMDD or PME isn’t about having it all figured out; it’s about showing up for yourself, one day at a time. Be patient with your body and mind. Progress, not perfection, is what matters. While we raise awareness and amplify real voices, remember to be kind to yourself.”
— Sandi MacDonald, IAPMD Co‑Founder & Executive Director
Spread the Word
As we listen to the powerful voices of those living with PMDs, we’re reminded that awareness is only the beginning; action, connection, and community are what bring lasting change.
We’ve lined up a series of events throughout PMD Awareness Month designed to educate, empower, and bring us together. Whether you're seeking support, learning more, or looking to get involved, there’s a place for you in this growing movement.
